Double Blow For KL HC

KL Hockey Club have hit a snag even before the first match of the Malaysian Hockey League is played.

This is as a result of the fact that  their two key players, Mohd Razie Rahim and Nabil Fiqri Mohd Nor failed to secure their release from their training as Police Inspectors to play in the MHL.

The duo were in the registration list of players for KL Hockey Club as released by the MHC on Friday.

However further checks with the Commandant of the Police Training Centre ( Pulapol) revealed that the two players will not be allowed to play in the league due to their commitments with their training at the Pulapol.

" The two, Razie and Nabil are currently undergoing training at Pulapol. They will not be released to play in the Malaysian Hockey League until the completion of their training. However if their services are needed for the national team, we can consider time off for the two players to attend training," said SAC Zahari bin Mohd Yusoff who is the Commander of Pulapol.

This will surely come as a blow to KL Hockey Club as Razie is their ace defender besides his ability in the penalty corner department.

And Nabil has time and again proven to be the live wire of the team in Attack, popping up to score crucial goals besides creating them.

However KLHC can depend on their foreign imports to see them mount a challenge for the title.

Besides registering Kevin Lim who is a naturalised Malaysian who is from Germany, they have bolstered their squad with Jelte van Gennip (Holland), Pedro Lopez- Alonso (Spain), Ali Shan, Abdul Haseem Khan, Mohamed Umar Bhutta (all Pakistan) and Nam Hyun-woo (South Korea.
